Story
We are collecting for Prostate Cancer UK – this is our
chosen charity for 2018.
The ‘high light’ of our fundraising year will be some of the dedicated members of the MMOC National Rally Team doing their version of The Full Monty, for one night only!
This will take place at our Morris Minor Owners Club National Rally 23rd June at Kelmarsh Hall, Northamptonshire. These guys are dedicated to raising as much money as they can for Prostate Cancer UK; none are professional dancers or stage performers, in fact quite the opposite so they are not only laying their reputations on the line but possibly their dignity too!! They come from all parts of the country and several MMOC branches.
Prostate Cancer is a disease that can develop over months or even years, it is usually something that occurs in men over 65 years of age, but don’t be fooled it can happen in much younger men too.
It’s sneaky, it’s stealthy and can be often overlooked until it’s too late. Early diagnosis is the key to preventing this insidious invasion.
Did you know that Prostate Cancer kills 11,000 men every year? Did you also know that Prostate Cancer will affect one in every eight men in a life time? These are the harsh facts about it!!
The other harsh fact is that Prostate Cancer UK is a relatively small charity in the great scheme of things; it does not have the resources or funding of the larger more well-known cancer charities. For Prostate Cancer UK to succeed in their mission to raise awareness of the illness and search for a cure and prevention, your help and support is much needed. Please give as generously as you can.
