EDUCATION FOR ALL MOROCCO

World change starts with educating girls, because when you educate a girl you educate the next generation. 

Very few girls from the rural communities in the High Atlas mountains of Morocco get the opportunity of continuing their education after primary school because they live too far away from the few secondary schools, and their parents cannot afford to pay for lodgings or transport. Many girls are therefore forced to end their education at 12 years old.

Education For All is changing this by building and running girls boarding houses  The first was opened  in April 2008, and now we have 5 houses in total, each providing warm beds, hot meals, computer rooms and access to books for up to 40 girls per house.   With your help we need to open a Lycee specific house by Sept 2013 in Asni 

It only costs 1,000 Euros to sponsor a girl for a whole year at the EFA houses. This covers all her needs, including uniform, toiletries, hot showers, 3 nutritious meals and access to computers and learning resources. It also covers the running costs and pays the salaries of the amazing house mothers who ensure the girls are well cared for motivated.

The success of this model is obvious when you look at the academic results. Each year the girls score exam results almost double the national average and since 2013, we have 9 girls studying at the University of Marrakesh- the first in their villages ever to reach this level of education.
