Story

Hello,

For those people that are not aware I unfortunately have had cancer in my stomach and quite a few blood clots in my lungs. This lead to me passing out when training for the virtual London Marathon last year. I still managed to complete it, but very slowly! 😊

After 2 blood transfusions, an iron infusion, and the removal of most of my stomach, I am now relatively ok and having chemotherapy and still on blood thinners to get rid of the blood clots. The NHS have been superb at every stage.

I’ve been on a liquid diet and it is not much fun when there is no alcohol involved!!! 😊

I can now eat normal food, just very small portions, so Morgan is eating twice what I can at every mealtime!

Morgan has been a superstar throughout the last 9 months. Lots of tears initially from him and me, but then he has been a rock to me when I needed it, and I have been able to support him when he
is having a rough day.

I would also like to thank my parents, family and close friends for their amazing support. It's been truly fantastic, having so much help, cards, visits, flowers, and walks or gentle runs with all of you.

The main operation to remove the 7cm lump of cancer in my stomach had a 1/20 chance of dying within 30 days of the operation. Morgan was not aware of this obviously, but he did know cancer was pretty serious!

For this reason Morgan decided he wanted to do something to raise money for a local cancer charity that had helped us. Morgan’s Mini Marathon was born, and he has worked hard to create the poster,
sponsorship forms and collect money from friends and neighbours. It’s an invite only, as Tavy athletics club have been very kind to let us start our race 5mins after the main Tavy 7 starts.

We have about 20 kids running the 7 mile Tavy 7 route on Sunday 30th October this year. It’s going to be a tough challenge for all of them and me!

If you would like to help raise some money for the Mustard Tree at Derriford hospital, please donate what you can comfortably afford on this page.

Thank you in advance and keep smiling! 😊

Tim
