Story

Hello everyone
I'm at it again I'm afraid. Over the last few years you've all supported me so much and so generously as I've run various 10k and half marathon runs and also the Three Peaks Challenge and I have now decided I'm ready to take on the big one and signed up to do the London Marathon this April.
I have decided to run for Penny Brohn Cancer Care who I also did the Three Peaks Challenge for in 2009. They are a fantastic charity and centre for people who need support, treatment and a different approach to coping with cancer. They were hugely helpful to my dad when he was being treated for his Bowel Cancer and I have no doubt that they had a very big part in his battle and impact on the fact that he has now had the all clear.
I have been training since October and things have been going well so far. A traditional new year cold has put things on hold in the last couple of days but I'll be back at it soon!
I have to raise at least 1500 quid but have put the target at 2000 to see how close to that I can get...I will also be organising some fundraising events over the next couple of weeks to help edge the money up...Also - Penny Brohn only get 9 places on the marathon so not only am I honored to have been given a place but I really want to raise as much money for them as possible!
Just to give you an idea of what your money could go towards: £30 pays for free information and help packs for 20 newly diagnosed people with cancer whilst £1,500 means that someone affected by cancer can benefit from a two day residential course at the Penny Brohn Cancer Care centre in Bristol.
I know that a lot of you have already been amazingly generous in the last few years and for that I am hugely greatful but if you can find it in your hearts to reach deep again for me it will make all those miles I will be pounding over the next few months, not to mention the actual marathon, so much easier knowing you are behind me the whole way. I know this is a huge challenge. It will be the furthest I have ever run and it really won't be easy. If I'm honest I am pretty terrified about it but I know I can do it and I will be doing it for such a great cause that I will keep going no matter what. So please, whatever the amount, even a pound will be awesome. Every penny will count!
Love to you all and I will keep you posted with my progress...
