Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
All donations are very much appreciated and will all be going to MIND. As a sufferer of mental illness myself I understand how hard it is to tell people about your struggles which led to me suffering in silence for over 2 years. I was embarrassed to tell people of my condition, OCD, however speaking to people was the best decision of my life. Whilst I was a child and had access to free help I understand many don’t have that luxury and I believe it is important no one suffers alone. MIND is a fantastic charity that will offer support, information and advice to those who need it most. In times like these during the pandemic many more people may be suffering in silence and charities like MIND need donations so they can continue to support those in need.
I set myself this challenge as running is a way for me to disconnect myself from negative thoughts and improve my mental wellbeing. It will allow me to raise money and awareness for a brilliant cause whilst highlighting the positive effects that running can have on people.
I wanted to do this in memory of my uncle, and for everyone who suffers or has suffered with a mental illness. It is important that no one should suffer alone. MIND is a fantastic charity that means a lot to me and I am aiming to raise money to help support their amazing work.
UPDATE: Having completed the challenge I am overwhelmed with the amount of support I have received and how much money I was able to raise! It was more than I ever could have imagined and I am so proud that I’ve been able to make a difference to people’s lives. This was the toughest thing I’ve ever done both mentally and physically and I’m so happy that I managed to complete the challenge however I wouldn’t have been able to do it without everyone’s support!
