Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

What am I doing?

I have decided to dust of my Santa suit and my walking boots for Epilepsy Scotland. Instead of a Santa run, it is a 6 mile walk round some beautiful scenery in Edinburgh before Christmas (more info here: #mce_temp_url#)

Why Epilepsy Scotland?

My father was a pediatric neurologist and so learnt about epilepsy from him from at a young age. I suffered a computer game induced epileptic fit in my early teens, which left me dazed and confused, but wanting to help others with epilepsy. In addition, I have to be careful nearly twenty years on with strobe lighting at the theatre and gigs due to photosensitivity, which may trigger a fit. Finally, I support the annual "Purple Day" for epilepsy awareness but wanted to do something more, thus doing this walk. By doing so I hope I will help increase awareness of epilepsy amongst you all even more and raise money for this worthwhile cause:

"The goal is to understand the mechanisms of epilepsy, which are not known, and create better treatments for this terrible disorder." (Brian Ross)

Why should I donate?

"Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more." (Anthony Robbins)

So please dig deep and donate now.
