Story
On Monday the 18th of January 2021, my best friend and soulmate passed away. John was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and fought courageously to give me the gift of time over the last thirteen months.
He had a beautiful mind, a wonderful soul and was an absolute true gentleman. I'm so fortunate that we shared so many incredible moments together through better, for worse, in sickness and in health. John gave me so much confidence and love for a lifetime.
Every 20 minutes a person in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer. I have had two significant loved ones pass away from blood cancers in a space of a year.
Rakhee, Sonya and I, will be running the London Marathon this October to honour John's and Matt's memory and to continue celebrating their lives. We will be fundraising for a vital charity and resource called Leukaemia Care. This dedicated team try to ensure that anyone affected by blood cancer receives the right information, advice and support.

John will forever be my angel looking after me and bring a lot of sunshine to our world. He said he would encourage us to get over the finishing line and I know he would proudly say - 'Speed up a bit'.
Please continue to support blood cancer charities like Leukaemia Care, giving blood for vital transfusions, or even register to become a stem cell donor with organisations like the Anthony Nolan Trust and DKMS.
