I always like a personal challenge and since I am in France in August, I thought it would be a good idea to try to cycle up Mont Ventoux on Saturday 17th August 2019 at 6am in the morning.  I must be mad, but it's all for a good cause!

The ride is 21km from Bedoin to the top, which is an ascent of more than 1600 metres to a peak of just over 1900 metres. 19km of the ride is up hill!  I am hoping to complete this ride in under 4 hours.  On the flat, this would be less than 1 hour, but constant climbing is slow going.

Third Hope are one of our chosen charities at Tandem Financial Ltd.  One of the directors of Creative Adviser, the marketing firm we use at Tandem, is called David Salmon.  When he is not working as a marketeer, he is living in Uganda with his wife Rose-Mary in a tiny village north of Gulu, helping to rehabilitate child ex-soldiers.  See their website here: http://thirdhope.org.  What they do is simply amazing and I feel incredibly privileged to know them both.  One day I plan to go over to Uganda to help out first hand.  I know that any money you donate will get to the front line, and help children who have seen and done awful things, but are now trying to heal and restore their lives.  They need to rediscover hope for their future and for their communities.
