Just over 6 years ago, our son and brother Joey underwent heart surgery at the Leeds General Infirmary. The Children's Heart Surgery team were wonderfully supportive and their skill, dedication and compassion was an inspiration to us and my family. Some of the children, many just babies, and their families spent months in the unit. Normal life was suspended. These families were supported throughout by the Children's Heart Surgery fund. Joey is now fit and well. He is aged 20 and has achieved much post-operation including a tough charity bike ride and climbing to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

So we decided to try and raise funds for this wonderful charity by doing something a bit different.We shall be taking part in a one-mile swim in the Royal Victoria Docks - the Great London Swim - on 31st August - Mum and daughter!
