Story

Hi everyone!

I DID IT!!!!  :)  On Saturday, 20 June 2009 I  participated in the Rob Roy Challenge in Scotland.  The first 7 miles walking seemed a doddle but then it all went downhill from there (or should I say uphill?!?) For the next 9 miles I had to contend with blisters and achey knees and then an absolute hellish 22 miles on the bike.  Training in London certainly DID NOT prepare me for the sheer mountains I encountered in Scotland and considering the steepest incline I had ever biked up was Putney Hill, I was way out of my depth!!  It all came to rights though in the last 17 miles where I found my stride and made it my mission to pass every single person I could see in front of me, which I did!!  This was no small feat as I had spent the previous 6hrs getting my butt kicked by middle-aged men with beer guts and ladies in their 60's so morale was down at that point.  I gave it my absolute all and finished in a respectable 10hrs,13secs! At this point I felt slightly delirious from the mixture of exhiliration and exhaustion so what better time to give a tv interview!! I can only imagine what nonsense I was babbling but I guess we'll find out when they release the promo video for Rob Roy Challenge 2010!!

A big thanks to everyone who has helped me surpass my original fundraising target and supported me in this endeavour!!  THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
