Story
Not as many of you would know but in August 2020 I was diagnosed with Systematic Lupus. 2020 was the most difficult year of my life for me and my family but we are over the worst. I spent most of my year at St Thomas’s Hospital in ICU and I can not thank them enough for everything they did. Without the amazing nurses and drs I wouldn’t be alive today.
Lupus is not a common illness. Lupus is a condition that affects the immune system. It can cause problems with your skin, joints, kidneys and other organs. Lupus is caused by the immune system mistakenly attacking healthy parts of your body. It's not fully understood why this happens.
Today marks National Lupus Day and this is something very close to my heart.
World Lupus Day takes place on 10th May each year and is an opportunity for lupus organisations around the world to come together to raise awareness and funds in support of the estimated 1.5 million people living with the disease globally.
Everyone is fighting a battle, just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.
I’m fundraising for LUPUS UK. Here’s my JustGiving page, if you’d like to donate! Anything small or big can go a long way to help a person in need with Lupus.
Lots of love, hugs and kisses
