Alison has been going to public shelters for 7 years to help dogs. This time she is going back for her challenge - one we think is crazy! Raising money to help stop unwanted pups ending up being born unwanted, captured and caged.

Story

Please support me in my challenge. It is a challenge that is incredibly close to my heart and a challenge that I have wanted to do for years - no matter how crazy. Public shelters exist because the Romanian government policy is capture and euthanise after 14 days. This is how Romania is trying to control the stray dog population. Only there policy is not working! Thousands of puppies end up in public shelters, crying, scrabbling to leave and many dying on the cold shelter floor of disease. At night after I leave any public shelter, I take time out for reflection, the shocking sadness, the pleading eyes, the crying of the dogs ringing in my ears. I always wonder what happens at night Do all the dogs bark? Do they fight? Do the dogs feel alone, scared in the damp harsh cold cages? Well by the end of September I will find out. I am spending the night in a cage at Mihailesti public shelter in Bucharest. I would like to raise the money towards a neuter campaign in November this year -
