At Kidneys for Life, we are always particularly grateful for the gifts people make in memory of someone special, which serve both to support our work and pay tribute to the life of a much-loved person.

Story

A much-loved Mum, Nonna and friend Monica Curtis passed away in March 2023.

Monica had been a kidney patient for more than 15 years, receiving dialysis 3 times a week. The treatment was invasive and at times hard, but she was disciplined and endured it with her customary humour.

In her own words: "It keeps me alive and has let me watch my grandchildren grow up. I wouldn't swap it for anything."

Kidneys for Life raises money for research into kidney disease, transplantation, dialysis and related disease affecting the kidney; direct patient amenities for renal and transplant patients not usually funded; supports education of the renal multi-disciplinary team and patients; support for conferences & workshops relating to kidney disease and the purchase of medical equipment.
