Event: Great North Run 2021, on 12 September 2021
This summer, like never before, we are called to be signs of hope for our world. Your action for hope can mean fewer families have to ask: how do I keep my child safe if we dont have water for hand-washing?

Story

CAFOD has challenged us all to be part of the Summer of Hope, inviting us to recreate the events that have been cancelled due to the global pandemic, and be a sign of hope by raising money for their Coronavirus appeal.

I'm not a real runner and deep down I could have been relieved the Great North Run was cancelled but with the Summer of Hope I had no excuse! I plan to run the 13.1 miles on 13 Sept the day the Great North Run should have taken place.

Hopefully with a bit of fundraising support for the run, together we can ensure fewer families in some of the world's poorest communities have to ask: "How do I keep my child safe if we don't have water for hand-washing?".
