Story
As many readers of the MoneytotheMasses.com will know my brother and I suffer from Crohn's Disease and over the years we have clocked up several months in hospital, taken dozens of different medications, had more surgical procedures than we care to recall and had 5m of small intestine removed.
Crohn’s Disease is a condition that causes inflammation of any part of the digestive system. Crohn’s is a chronic condition which means that it is ongoing and life-long. You can have periods of good health (remission), as well as times when symptoms are more active (relapses or flare-ups). Symptoms vary from person to person but typically include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, tiredness and fatigue, feeling generally unwell, mouth ulcers, loss of appetite, weight loss and anaemia.
In short it is a horrible condition that has impacted my life for many years and just two weeks ago I was told the disappointing news that I had developed Crohns in two additional areas of my digestive system. There is currently no cure for Crohn's and money is always needed to conduct further research and provide support to those with the condition. That is why next Saturday 9th June my brother and I will be doing the Crohn's & Colitis 10km London charity walk to raise money for Crohn's and Colitis UK. A charity that works to make life better for the 300,000 people in the UK with Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and other forms of IBD.
If you wish to support our efforts in helping people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and their families we would be delighted to receive any donations via our JustGiving page no matter how small. MoneytotheMasses.com will also match all donations up to £2,000.
