Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Monee, I am 22 and I caught covid at the end of January. I am now struggling with long covid. Since first being diagnosed with covid I have been struggling with the effects such as breathlessness, aches and pains, cough and a sore throat.

The main thing I have struggled with is walking as due to breathlessness, lack of energy and losing the strength in my legs for the first 4-6 weeks of covid I was only able to walk 900m continuously with assistance at about week 9. I am now on week 13 and decided to set myself a challenge to walk 80km in the month of may unassisted. From today I can now do roughly 2km of walking at once with no holding on to my mum or a stick. I wanted to do something for a great charity who are helping other people like me in their recovery of long covid. Due to not being able to work yet I thought setting this challenge would help me focus on my rehab and recovery and push myself a bit more and enable me to build myself to get back to work and also help others.

Any money helps:)

Thank you
