In our rehabilitation center, abused chimpanzees and macaques are recovering from their previous lives as circus artists, television actors, and even pets. 

Isolation, loneliness and the lamentable treatment of their previous owners have caused them physical and psychological problems of those they are trying to recover in their new life in MONA Foundation.

Fortunately, our rehabilitation center provides an excellent home for these rescued primates, where they can live in family with their peers, in a large natural environment. MONA gives them the second chance they deserve:having a better life free from suffering.

In addition, we focus on behavioral research, to monitor and improve the welfare of rescued animals and we strive to show our work through guided tours, because we know that the problems these species face
(extinction, trafficking, maltreatment in the entertainment industry ...) can be solved through education and awareness of the need to protect nature and our closest evolutionary relatives.

But to continue doing this we need your help. Every little bit helps, and in our rescue center we know it very well, because to cover more than 90% of our expenses, we depend on the generosity of individuals like you.
