DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal. We fund pioneering research and provide care and support to individuals and families living with EB.

Story

Hello and welcome to my very own fundraising page!

Last year, I did the women's 5k walk with mummy and managed to finish it quite quickly so this year I wanted to enter properly and get some sponsorship for doing it.

I'm raising money for DebRA because I want to help children who are like me but who have to live with EB.

EB is horrible.  It means that your skin just doesn't work properly and blisters at the slightest touch.  Children who have EB can damage their skin really badly just playing or even from having a cuddle.  Sometimes, their mummies and daddies have to bind their hands and feet with bandages to save them from knocks.  They have to take lots of medicines and spend ages having dressings and bandages changed.

If a baby is born with the worst type of EB, they will probably not even grow up to be as old as me and I'm only six.

DebRA pays for nurses to help mummies and daddies look after children with EB.  They are also trying to find a cure so that, one day, no-one will have to live with this horrible condition.

Please sponsor me if you can.  Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: DebRA gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

I hope I'll finish a bit quicker this year - and mummy, granny, Auntie Rachael and Lottie are all doing it with me so please sponsor me!

Love from Molly
