I came across Hope Health Action in 2015 when I was exploring gap year options (back then they were called Haiti Hospital Appeal), they immediately stood out to me because they were focusing on disability care in developing countries. Although an opportunity to visit did not arise they left a lasting impression which has continued into my Learning Disability Nurse career.
I feel a calling to help overcome obstacles in disability care across the world, but like the bible reminds me in Isaiah 52:7 I can be willing but it's me to has to take the first step... "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news". Which leads to the 16th - 17th September 2017.
Over these 2 days I will be part of a 15 person team from across the UK taking the Three Peaks Challenge to climb the 3 highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland in under 24 hours. If you wish to know more visit: https://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/national-three-peaks-challenge/
I am asking for donations towards the work Hope Health Action are doing in Haiti and now in South Sudan to provide safe health and disability care to vulnerable people in areas that face natural and humanitarian disasters. I hope you can join in in some way whether you make a donation, find out more about this charity and their vision (https://hopehealthaction.org/about) or pray for me and the team as we prepare. Please feel free to ask me any questions about the challenge or the charity and I'll do my best to answer. Thank you.
