Fundraising for Mind
Hi! My names Molly and I have decided to take on Mind's challenge to run 30 miles in April. Mind is a mental health charity which ensures that information and support is available for everyone. I have decided to undertake this challenge in hopes to raise as much money as possible as I myself know what it feels like to feel hopeless and alone whilst struggling with mental health. I am 19 years old and have struggled with my mental health since I was 16. This impacted my life massively, leading to past struggles with self-harm and multiple suicide attempts. Although I am lucky to have received help from multiple inpatient and outpatient services, there are many people who cannot access this kind of support. Seeking help is a massive and scary step within mental health recovery which many people are then met with just being placed on a waiting list, or worse being told that they are not 'bad' enough or attention seeking. This should not be the case, and should more people receive the help they need early enough many crises could be avoided. Mind needs your help so that they can be there for anyone who needs them, on the phone, in local communities, and campaigning for change. I personally have found that the work Mind does very valuable, allowing me to view resources helping me to understand my diagnoses better and to hear stories of those who have been in similar situations. I am fortunate to be in the place now where where I can see hope for my future and I want to do everything I can to try and help those who are struggling like I did. Now more than ever, people need support, in the UK, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem this year. Anything you could donate would be appreciated massively! Thank you :).
