On Sunday 12th September 2021 I will be running Brighton Marathon for The Nelson Trust, Gloucester women's centre!  I am fortunate enough to work for this amazing organisation with the most incredible team of women.  

At the Gloucester Women's centre we support women and families around Gloucestershire who are unfortunately living in some difficult circumstances. Our centre provides a a safe environment for our clients to access support & a space for vulnerable women to come to in crisis. 

In order to keep our women safe, our emergency fund gives us unrestricted money to use in a emergency/ crisis situation. Some examples would be; 

- Phone credit top-up 

- Train/ bus fares for women to travel to 'safe houses'

- Emergency accommodation

- Essentials for those who may be street homeless 

- Buying cheap mobile phones to keep women safe 

& So so much more... 

Our team work extremely hard to keep our women as safe as possible. Having our emergency fund  gives us the opportunity to meet the needs of our women.

I have decided to run Brighton marathon in hope to raise money for our emergency fund & continuing our support for Vulnerable women & families in the community.
