Story

I am hoping to do the skydive to contribute towards raising money for this fantastic hospice, which does great work helping people. I would massively appreciate any donations that people are able to give.

The appeal: To celebrate the 30 anniversary of Saint Francis Hospice in 2014 the RecorderPost newspapers have set a 30 for 30 appeal to try and raise £30,000 for the charity this year and with your help we hope to achieve this.

Saint Francis Hospice is a much-loved vital charity in the communities it serves, which fall into the areas our newspapers cover – Barking & Dagenham, Brentwood, Redbridge borough and Havering.

One in three people require hospice care and Saint Francis Hospice provides medical care and emotional support to people with complex needs related to a life-limiting illness and their relatives and carers when they need it, wherever they are and ideally in the place of their choosing.

Each year the hospice supports more than 1,500 people with its range of services – inpatient unit with 19 beds, day therapy service, teams of nurses who visit and care for patients in their own homes at various stages of their illness, counselling, physiotherapy, complementary therapy and more – provided both at the hospice and in peoples’ homes.
