Story
On 09 July I will be taking on the MIGHTY Bob Graham Round with my friend Mollie and the support of Team Hatch. The route covers c.110km and 8200m ascent over 42 beautiful fells in the Lake District. We are aiming to raise at least £8200, a mere £1 for ever metre climbed. The challenge has a 24-hour limit and so we will be setting off from Moot Hall in Keswick at 22:00, aiming to return by 21:00 on Saturday 10 July ...just in time for last orders. This challenge is of HUGE magnitude with more people having climbed Everest than completed the round. We will be earning every penny of your donation.
We are raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) - an incredible children's hospital which does incredible things. In 2014 our friend - James Hatchley - spent 102 days experiencing the power of the charity with his daughter Emma Rose. Emma was diagnosed with a dreadful and extremely rare disease called Churg Strauss Syndrome - a form of vasculitis. For three endless months the wonderful surgeons, doctors and nurses across 30 departments at GOSH did absolutely everything in their collective power to save, stablise and give Emma the best chance of returning to normal life. Emma faced it all with courage and bravery but very sadly lost her battle on 30 May 2014. The compassion, skill, love and friendship extended to Emma and her family by the staff of GOSH was humbling and the work they do is simply amazing,
Thank you for visiting the page and reading our story. Any contribution you are able to kindly make is HUGELY appreciated. And if you find yourself in and around the Lake District on the weekend of 09 July, be sure to come find us and say hello...
Thank you.
