Story
THE CHALLENGE - In three weeks time, I will be climbing Mount Snowdon at night on the Llanberis Track. This can be a difficult challenge taking an average of 6 - 10 hours to get up and down. Considering I sit down for that same amount of hours in a day at work, this will definitely be a challenge for me!
The deadly earthquake in Nepal has left millions of people in desperate need of clean water. My aim is to help save lives by building a well with the Walk for Water challenge.
I am raising money to be able to give a community in Nepal reliable access to safe water for years to come. The people of Nepal have always struggled to find safe water – the whole country is reliant on tankers as natural water sources are badly contaminated.
Now their situation is even worse – damaged roads mean water supplies have no way to get through especially to the more remote areas. Emergency aid is vital to save lives now, but the humanitarian work must also continue over the coming weeks and months.
We are unbelievably privileged living in the UK where we have access to clean water without having to think twice. I struggle to drink less than 2 Litres of water a day due to the fact that I am spoilt for choice when it comes to beverages. So for me this is a real eye opener as the people of Nepal are struggling to even find their basic necessity.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Much appreciated.
