PAKISTAN FLOODS KILL MORE THAN 500 PEOPLE
More than 39,000 homes have been partially or completely destroyed.
Heavy rains have resulted in urban and flash floods, landslides, and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOF) across Pakistan, particularly affecting Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Sindh Provinces. As of 2nd August, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported that the floods have resulted in 502 deaths (including 191 children and 98 women) and some 593 people have been injured since 14th June.
More than 39,000 houses have been partially or completely damaged, around 800 schools (600 in Balochistan alone), were damaged and 120 bridges and 2,516 km of road sections have been affected.
