Christmas Concert

Christmas Concert · 13 December 2020
This year's Christmas Concert is a bit different... let's face it, this year has been a bit different!
We've had to find new ways of doing things; we've discovered Zoom, uploaded resources onto a virtual learning platform (YouTube) and practiced music at home with kitchen utensils, and we've held sessions outside in the sunshine (and rain!) We sent cards and video messages, and delivered DVDs and instruments. We've learned new words such a 'social distancing', pandemic, and lock down, but most of all we have learned how important it is to stay connected and the value of friendship. For many of our performers, The Music Man Project has been a real lifeline. One parent commented recently that the "Music Man Project has been the only consistent thing for my son this year!"
When we resumed our weekly sessions in September, little did we know that only a few weeks later we would find ourselves faced with a second national lock down. Consequently much of this year's Christmas Concert was filmed during our September/October rehearsals. At that stage we thought we would have several more weeks to hone and perfect our new Christmas repertoire, but sadly this was not the case!
Nevertheless, in true Music Man Project style, our musicians deliver yet another fabulous performance, with all the usual flair, enthusiasm and musicality that we have grown to expect from these wonderfully inspirational performers.
This year has been particularly challenging for our finances. We are entirely self-funded and rely heavily on fundraising and donations. If you are able to support us, please give generously to help sustain this vital, life-giving, inspirational project - it means the world to us and our performers.
Thank you!
