Story
In early 2020 Majella helped to come up with the idea of running a 26.2 mile route from Temple Street Children’s Hospital to Hari’s home in Kentstown for his 5th birthday to make funds for the hospital in Hari’s memory. Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic meant this plan was cancelled. In early October 2021 Majella resurrected the idea and started planning it again, this time for Hari’s 7th birthday. Hari held a very special place in Majella’s heart and she was so excited to present the idea and plans to Hari’s mum and dad when visiting them in November and immediately also started to recruit runners and support drivers.
Very sadly Majella herself died just over a week later on the 26th November 2021 but her brilliant plan for Hari’s Marathon lives on and will be happening on Saturday 4th June 2022, with all proceeds going to Temple Street Children's University Hospital, Dublin. We will now be running Majella’s Marathon for Hari, in both their memories for this wonderful cause.
