Story
With my goal of traversing the Cuillin Ridge in a day out the window thanks to the weather, I wanted to make sure my free week wasn't totally wasted. I said I was done with distance runs for 2022, and my ITB may well agree with this, but when browsing the internet I reminded myself of the 'No Cure, Always Hope' Ultra.
The route is 'A 39 mile classic fell running challenge over 25 peaks with 17,000 feet of ascent.
This amazing fell running challenge was created in 2015 by Duncan’s brother and top fellrunner, Simon Booth.
It weaves together the three 10in10 walking challenge routes to take runners on a circuit from the Swinside Inn up Causey Pike, over Sail, Crag Hill, Wandope and Whiteless Pike, before descending into Buttermere. There he will head up Dodd, Red Pike, High Stile. High Crag, Seat, Haystacks, Grey Knotts, Brandreth, Green Gable, Seathwaite Fell, Allen Crags, Glaramara and Thorneythwaite Fell before a descent into Rosthwaite. Next will be a climb up to Castle Crag, Maiden Moor, High Spy, Dale Head, Hindscarth, Robinson, Snockrigg and Newlands Hause, before arriving back at the Swinside Inn.'
By embarking on the challenge there is the request that you endeavour to raise £50 for the MS Society, something I will gladly try and do. If you can help me hit this target, I'd be most grateful.
