Story
If I run the London Marathon in 3 hrs or slower, I will double your donation (max £2000) to Shooting Star Childrens Hospices.
On the 4th of August I became the proud father of our son, Rafe. We are lucky that both Rafe and mother are healthy and well.
As a new father, I cannot imagine the pain that families with babies and young children with life-limiting conditions go through. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, Shooting Star is here to make every moment count.
Shooting Star Childrens Hospices support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
It costs £10 million a year to maintain the current level of care and just 10% of that income comes from government funding, so they rely on supporters’ generosity and fundraising to keep the service running.
As a new father it's an honour to run the London marathon and raise money for this charity.
To ensure every mile counts and challenge myself to go extra deep for the families in need, I will match all donations if I finish the marathon in over 3 hours (with a cap of 2000 pounds).
If I run under 3 hours I hope you will double your donation 😎. As for a benchmark, I ran the Richmond half mararhon on 14 August in 1:40:41 with a avg heart rate of 162 BPM. It was pretty tough.
Thank you deeply for any support and donations.
Let's go!
