Story
On the 28th June last year, I lost my special little nephew, Jayden Alfie John Tullett. He sadly passed away in his sleep at only fourteen months old. Jayden had suffered from a rare form of heart failure called Myocarditis which affects only ten children in the UK each year.
In honour and memory of Jayden, I will be taking part in a tandem sky dive to raise money and create awareness for his memorial charity, CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young.
I will be jumping from a height of 13,000ft (approximately 2.5 miles). The first 8000ft will involve a free-fall reaching terminal velocity at 120mph, covering a rate of 1000ft every 5 seconds. At 5000ft the parachute will be deployed and I will arrive on the ground some 4 minutes later. In attempt to raise as much money as I possibly can, I have chosen to do a sky dive as it is the scariest activity I can think of.
I will be jumping with skydive.co.uk at their sky diving centre situated at Hinton Airfield, Steane, Brackley, Northants NN13 5NS. The jump will be taking place on 7th June at approximately 12:30. Please feel free to come and watch me. I will also upload photos of the jump and certificate on Facebook. If you prefer, I will be happy to email you the photos as well.
As well as this page, i am also collecting donations in person. I am aiming to raise £750 for Cry and any donations would be greatly appreciated, and will make a tremendous difference! The money raised will help Cry in their medical research and hopefully preventing further deaths, screening clinics, creating awareness and supporting families who have been affected. Thank you for all your support! I really appreciate it. Martin
