Story
On 14th August I will be attempting to swim across the English Channel from England to France! I am raising money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, a fantastic and much needed charity in these challenging times who save lives at sea, all around our coastline.
If you know me you know I live for the water - I have swum all my life, scuba dived for half of it, and fill my working days as a marine scientist 😊 I have always wanted to swim the Channel, and I’ve finally plucked up the courage to attempt it!
Any donations will be hugely appreciated by the RNLI and will help to spur me on when it gets tough at sea! Swimming the channel is one of the most difficult and challenging swims in the world so keep your fingers crossed for us! I have joined the Brockwell Swimmers, we are a 5 person relay team attempting to make the crossing.
We are all training extremely hard (the constant smell of chlorine is real and my husband is fed up with all the lift requests to the pool/ lido/ beach 😂) and can’t wait for August! No wetsuits allowed, just a swim cossie, cap and goggles (jellyfish stings are almost certain) so fingers crossed for a heatwave!!!
