31 Days - 31 Half Marathons - 406 miles
Hi!
First of all, thank you for making it this far! This already makes you a fantastic human being with an interest in what an idiot is doing in his spare time around a full-time job, his family life, and all other things that happen day to day.
Why am I doing this? The past 12 months I have gotten back into running and pushing myself, literally, as far as possible. This meant long days out in the cold and the rain, with my loving family at home in the warm, or even standing out in the cold cheering me on to keep going. Some of you may not know that without the wonderful work that Cancer Research do, none of that would have been possible. As a baby, Nicola was diagnosed with a stage 3 Wilms tumour, so without the excellent work that is done by cancer research none of my pit crew would be possible. They are the reason I do the things I do.
“What are you going to do to raise this money?” I hear you ask. During the month of May, I am going to attempt to run a half marathon a day, 13.1 miles to you non-lingo folk, this will accumulate to just over 406 miles for the month of May, and then the icing on the cake will be in June when I attempt a 100km race in the Lake District.
“But Mitchell, you can run a half marathon”. That is true, but can I run 31 in a row, around work and life? That’s what I’m going to push myself to find out. And this is the part where you, the person reading this far, come in to the deal. Donate to this great cause what you can afford, and cheer me on if you see me out and about.
Thank you for your time, you’re the best person!
