Story

4 years ago I fell ill with a virus; 2 weeks later I could barely move and have been living with a disability since.  I am grateful for the few things I can do when I can do them. But there’s lots I can’t do that I miss, including physical challenges.  I’ve done a few over the years, often linked to milestone birthdays, raising money for charity too.   As I can’t do that for my 50th I’m asking family and friends to do so instead, and enjoy the pleasure (and pain😀) of doing so.  Thankyou for anyone who takes a challenge and anyone who donates and supports them along the way!!

ME is a neurological disease that affects around 0.2-0.4% of the population (c.265,000 people in the UK) – including children and adolescents. Its the commonest cause for long-term sickness absence from school in the UK. Cases are rising dramatically across the world due to COVID. M.E. can cause greater functional impairment and poorer quality of life than many other serious medical conditions.
