Story
The Dave Holman Challenge is an annual walk organised by the friends of Tiny Steps, in memory of our dear friend, brother, uncle and son - Dave Holman. Dave died in a road accident in 2016 and this walk ensures his memory lives on in a positive way, by raising money for a Northwich-based charity that he supported. It is a chance for walkers to come together on an annual basis, take on a physical challenge, remember Dave and raise money for Tiny Steps. The route for the sixth Dave Holman Challenge - which takes place on Saturday 24 June 2023 - will take walkers along the 34 mile (55 km) Sandstone Trail: one of the most popular walks in the north-west which runs from Whitchurch, just over the Shropshire border, up to Frodsham in central Cheshire. The walk will start at Jubilee Park in Whitchurch and then head northwards along the Sandstone Trail, in the direction of Hampton Heath, Bickerton, Beeston, Tarporley, Kelsall, Delamere Forest, Helsby and then Frodsham. Refreshments will be available en route before completing the walk at the Bear's Paw in Frodsham where a well-earned drink can be enjoyed by all 😊 Tiny Steps' aim is to provide a sensory play area and social cafe for children and young people with additional needs and their families in the Northwich/Winsford area of Cheshire. The charity was set up by Martin and Laura Clifton, when their daughter Connie was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy called West Syndrome.
