Extra care for extra kittens

Helping three mums and their kittens · 26 September 2022
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Here at Mitcham Homing Centre we are really noticing the increase of unwanted litters due to cats who have not been neutered especially during the lockdown periods. Meaning we are having to help more kittens than usual who are in need.
In the last couple of weeks alone we have had three sets (and counting!) of kittens arrive needing lots of care and vet attention.
Jess and her one day old kittens arrived at the centre when sadly her owner was moving house and could not take Jess and her kittens. Mum and the kittens are doing well and have gone into foster care. While they get all the food and care needed, we are waiting for the kittens to become old enough so they and mum Jess can be
wormed, microchipped, neutered, vaccinated and ready to find their forever homes.
Mia was a stray and pregnant, she gave birth to four beautiful kittens in the garden of a kind person who had been feeding her. Due to the weather getting colder and the kittens being so young it was decided that Cats Protection Mitcham was called to help. Because Mia had not had much interaction with humans it was great to be able to give Mia and her kittens Frenchie, Rizzo, Sandy and Zuko lots of socialisation as well as all the care and attention they need. Currently they are altogether in a foster home. Once they are ready they will all be
wormed, microchipped, neutered and vaccinated, then they will be able to find their forever homes.
Cupcake, Cookie, Brownie and Pancake were approximately 10 weeks old when a kind couple found them on a common and brought them straight to the centre for help. They are a lovely bunch but do need lots of care, attention and socialisation. In the next few weeks they will be having more veterinary checks to make sure they are ok to head to a foster home. Once they are ready they will be neutered, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped.
We are expecting by the time Jess, Mia and all the kittens leave our care the bills including treatment, neutering, bedding, toys and food will be into the hundreds of pounds. We have set up this JustGiving page to help pay for some of these costs and we would be so grateful for any support you are able to give.
In the case of too much money being raised, any balance remaining will go to help other cats and kittens in our care.
