Story
Miss Joy the founder of local dance school Jason Theatre School has been using her time in lockdown to create an inspiring story!
Miss Joy is turning 90 in August, she is now totally blind and living in a care home in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.
During the lockdown she has knitted a scarf which is now almost two metres long. A huge achievement considering she is using all her other senses and her imagination to knit without vision !
Every spare moment has been spent working on this scarf and she would like to raise money for local charities with her efforts.
As she is now living in a care home in Hertfordshire she would really appreciate it if your donations could be made to Hertfordshire Community Foundation (HCF).
Please help Miss Joy raise funds to help Hertfordshire Community Foundation to support voluntary groups providing care and support for elderly and vulnerable people hit by the social and economic impact of the coronavirus. Donations will be targeted, in the form of grants, at local charities supporting local people facing a range of social issues including social isolation, food poverty, poverty and poor mental health.
They have set up a CORONAVIRUS DISASTER RELIEF FUND which will enable them to rapidly deploy resources to community based organisations so that they can help vulnerable people to weather the short and long-term impacts of the outbreak.
Thank you for your support
