Story
COVID-19 has changed everything. The things we used to take for granted like going out for dinner with friends and taking part in a park run seem like a distant memory. Video calling and social distancing are now the norm.
But the impacts of COVID-19 will be felt most by those who are already vulnerable. Children who are stuck in abusive and unsafe homes with no escape. Adults facing a mental health crisis who see their only escape is to go missing. Their loved ones, many already feeling isolated by their disappearance, may now have new worries – from lack of social support, to the police’s ability to investigate.
Supporters of Missing People across the nation are coming together to raise vital funds to support the 24/7 helpline, by running continuously as a team for 24 hours! Runners are setting alarms for silly-o-clock to challenge themselves and support the incredible work of the helpline team, who are working tirelessly to ensure support for those most in need at this difficult time. We’re also joined by supporters across the globe, with runners in the US and Australia taking the baton for legs of this epic relay too!
Missing People are determined to not let COVID-19 slow them down! They want to continue supporting the estimated one million people affected by missing each year.
