We often hear negative portrayals of football fans in the media, particularly when it comes to derby day and the hotbed of fervour surrounding the game threatens to overspill as rivalries come to a head. Well, this year is going to be slightly different - on Sunday 24th October a group of Sheffield United and Barnsley FC fans will come together, united by a common goal - to show their support for Weston Park Cancer Charity by walking 15 miles from Bramall Lane to Oakwell, raising much-needed funds along the way. 

I'll be joining the walk to say thank you to Weston Park staff for the care and support they gave to my darling Mum, my family and I during my Mum's illness and also to raise funds so that they can continue to offer the same support to other families whose lives have been affected by cancer.
