Story
A group of children from across Manchester have come together to raise money for families in the Ukraine. United by a love for music they wanted to do what they know best and contribute by singing together to fundraise. Their music teacher Miss Chapman from Chorlton brought them together to record a version of the popular anti-war song by Pete Seeger "Where Have All The Flowers Gone". They worked so hard to learn the song and completed the project within a week, thanks to the help of Danny Gruff at local recording studios Airtight Studios, Chorlton. A special shout out to local parent Zoe Telfer who worked so hard to make this happen even singing herself and having her team at work produce such a special video.

Will you donate today and help them reach their goal?
They are raising money for the DEC appeal. DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care. £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month. £50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep them warm. £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month.
Miss Chapman's partner, local writer Leon Johnson has written a piece of poetry inspired by the appeal:
Resistance
The fighting, the lives,
The husbands and wives,
The children, the buildings,
The heartbreak, the realisation,
The separation.
The not knowing,
The pain,
The anxiety,
The rage.
The anger,
The sadness,
Ukraine’s disarray,
We cannot fathom,
We can only shed light,
And this is our way.
These children from Manchester,
They just want to help,
No comparisons,
they’ve given up nothing,
They shine as one in voices,
Please spare what you can for this humanitarian crisis.
