A community food bank in Hull providing practical support to people facing hunger 💚

Story

Miranda's Big Stitch

Between 1 June and 31 August 2021, I will be cross-stitching a version of Van Gogh's The Starry Night to raise money for Hull Foodbank.

Having previously completed a 24-hour stitchathon and a year-long stitching challenge where I produced numerous smaller pieces, I thought I'd try my hand at one bigger piece this time. And big it is: at nearly 50,000 stitches, it should take me around 250 hours to complete. In other words, I'll have to do over 2.5 hours of stitching a day to get it ready by the deadline - well, it is meant to be a challenge!

I have chosen to fundraise for Hull Foodbank because, although I really wish foodbanks weren't needed, I fear they're unlikely to become surplus to requirements any time soon.

You can follow my progress on my FB page - just search for 'Miranda's Big Stitch'..
