Story
In my 40's i had a serious spinal injury and the treatment i received was very successful; it enabled me to continue walking. Not everybody has been so lucky. As I'm now in my 70's and still able to lead an active life I want to give back now to help others survive spinal trauma.
To do this Three Peaks Challenge i have been training since January. I've been working out in the Westminster Lodge gym on the treadmill and static bike and walking 2-8 miles every day around the lovely countryside in St Albans.
From October 2nd - 4th I will walk up three mountain peaks in three days in the French and Italian Alps. Any contribution you can make towards this great cause would be fantastic - thank-you!
This charity does innovative research on spinal treatments and helps to enable people across the UK to live full lives after very serious injuries.
Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. Every year 1,000 people in the UK and Ireland are paralysed following an injury to their spinal cord. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the support of the public to raise funds for our research. Because of the efforts of our supporters, we have funded innovative medical research that has achieved a number of ground breaking changes in the field.
