Story
Hello,
Thanks for clicking onto this page!
This winter is going to be different for everyone, and many will find it tougher than usual.
South London Cares are working to make sure that older people in Southwark and Lambeth stay connected this winter, by running online social clubs, and matching older and younger neighbours together to stay in touch over the phone.
I am supporting South London Cares by taking part in the South London Santa Run, raising money to prevent loneliness and isolation in the local community.
Whilst its only 5k, I only started running earlier this year! Finishing the year with a "race" dressed as Santa seems only appropriate! Hopefully I will also finish the race..
South London Cares run social clubs to connect elderly and younger neighbours in their community. If you have me on Facebook or have spoken to me in person about this, it's something that I go on about a fair bit!!
South London Cares and other Cares groups are looking to connect people living in cities and bring them together. More info on the impact of their work, and why tackling loneliness is so important can be found here: https://southlondoncares.org.uk/the-difference-we-make
I'd really appreciate any donations that you might be able to make today. If you're unable to make a donation, please have a glance at their website (https://southlondoncares.org.uk/home) to learn a bit more about their work. You may want to get involved!
