Story
At Stanton House we are aware of our responsibilities to our
local communities and of the importance to give a little back where we can. Our
Corporate Social Responsibility Committee organise a well-supported programme
of fund raising and voluntary activity and are proactive in generating
enthusiastic participation.
We first embarked on our CSR journey in 2012 when we decided to offer a series
of consultancy sessions to University students in London. Since then, we have
gone on to climb mountains, cross rivers and tackle long distance walks to
raise over £31,000 for EducAid. Here is an overview of what we have done in
recent years:
• Conquered Yorkshire’s famous three-peaks raising
£5,686 for EducAid and transforming the lives of 22 young Sierra Leoneans
• Our Hong Kong team faced mud, fire, walls and barbed
wire as they tackled the Spartan Sprint for EducAid, raising HK$ 39,041.06 and
providing a place of safety to 14 children in Sierra Leone
• Trekked the equivalent of 2.5 Marathons as we walked
from London to Brighton for EducAid. The team raised enough money to teach,
feed and home 31 vulnerable children in Sierra Leone
• Spent four hours hiking the Lake Districts’ Ullswater
in torrential rain, heavy fog and 50mph winds raising more than £4,450 for
EducAid in the process!
• 10 brave employees jumped out of a plane (with a
parachute!!), free falling for 30 seconds and in the process raised a fantastic
£5,000
We are now supporting an amazing charity called Harry's Hat who focus solely on
Hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and its impact. Every year 1 in every 1000
babies are born with the condition and many more children acquire it. Their
overall aim is to make life better for children with Hydrocephalus, as well as
for those who love and care for them.
