Hi Friends!
Normally at this time of year I’m raising money through the
Rt. 66 Marathon Charity Challenge. Unfortunately, like so many other things this year, things have changed. As a result, we’ve developed our own run – and you can take your dog with you on this one!
One of the things that hasn’t changed this year is the
assistance the Tulsa SPCA provides. Even with less than ideal conditions, so far this year we have taken in 815 dogs and cats, performed almost 5,700 spay/neuter surgeries and so much more. Hoarding and puppy mill rescues in just the last two months account for almost 140 of the animals we’ve saved (see photos in gallery). We have continued doing this vital work even though our donations are down about 35% for the year.
Normally my goal for the Rt. 66 Fundraiser is at least $5,000, more if you include the matching potential. I know money is tight for everyone this year but I hope to be able to raise a minimum of $2,500. I know the before pictures of the puppy mill dogs are hard to look at, but look at the difference in them after. Your generosity makes changes like that possible.
I hope you will help us continue saving lives.
Mindy
The Tulsa SPCA depends on local support to provide for animals both in foster homes and at the shelter. Our operating budget comes from your donations and the money stays here in Tulsa. We're a hometown operation, relying on our website, social media outlets and you to spread the word of our mission. We do not broadcast television commercials featuring famous Canadian singer-songwriters. By supporting the Tulsa SPCA, you are helping animals here in your own community, educating your neighbors and saving the pets in your neighborhood. Your generosity allows us to treat, protect, shelter and love animals that come to us in desperate need of second chances. Lives are changed every day because of the generosity and loyalty of people like you!
