MIND THE GAPS
On March 23rd 2020, the UK went into lockdown, in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus. We all stayed home, to protect the NHS, and to save lives.
Since then, millions have been supported financially with government grants. But, almost 6 million UK taxpayers have fallen through the gaps, and haven’t had any meaningful support.
Their ways of earning stopped overnight, but they’ve still had bills to pay, and mouths to feed.
NHS bank staff, taxi drivers, road workers, chefs, retail workers, teachers, admin assistants, cleaners, IT specialists, hairdressers, armed forces veterans, seamstresses.
Many haven’t even been able to access universal credit, or job seekers allowance.
Being excluded from meaningful financial support has not only pushed people into debt, poverty and homelessness, it has also severely impacted mental health.
Overwhelming feelings of stress, extreme anxiety and suicidal thoughts are taking over people’s minds.
All this during a worldwide pandemic, and still no support is being given to these excluded taxpayers.
And so, we have launched MIND THE GAPS - a fundraising campaign with all donations going directly to Samaritans.
We are aiming to raise £1 million, in a bid to help this amazing charity provide vital support for those suffering with their mental health, as a result of falling through the gaps in the government’s coronavirus support schemes.
£1 million will help Samaritans to support two hundred thousand people, and we need your help to make that happen.
If you’re able to, please donate whatever you can to Samaritans via the MIND THE GAPS JustGiving page, and help those who’ve fallen through the gaps, to get the mental health support they need.
