Story
I don't think any of us expected 2020 to be the year it was. The pandemic put a stop to all races entered for the challenge I had set up last year and its looking to be a similar scenario this year.
With that being said I've decided to set a distance goal (and have also signed up for the Cheltenham Half Marathon).
Even when training for the Berlin Marathon I have never passed the fabled 1000 mile mark for miles ran in a year and this year I'm determined to do so. I have quietly been plodding along since the 1st January and as of writing this (10th Feb) I'm currently sitting on 86 miles completed.
The joys of technology mean that all my runs since starting this page are now logged directly into the comments meaning you can see how I'm getting on. I need to average 25 miles a week to be hitting the target before the end of December (but you know me too well to know I want to do it sooner!)
Sue Ryder supported Rog during the most difficult time of our lives. The care they provided not only kept Rog comfortable but allowed us to rest in the knowledge that he was being looked after. This care and compassion carried on for Mum, Rupert and Myself after Rog died to make sure we were supported and knew who to talk to.
Whether its a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – Sue Ryder are there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
I know for a number of people money may be a difficult subject in the current climate but even if it is only a £1 it will be appreciated. There is always the option of volunteering for them too :)
Thanks
Marty
