Fundraising for Beat
On 5th October 2019 we are very excited but also extremely scared to be throwing ourselves out of an aeroplane in Lancaster. Why are we doing this ? We’re doing this because we want to raise money for BEAT, the eating disorder charity, which is very close to both our hearts. It’s estimated 1.25million are affected by some kind of eating disorder. It’s a complex mental illness and anyone of any age, any gender can be affected. Some of you may or may not know that both of us have also been battling this illness over the last couple of years. Eating disorders present themselves in so many different ways and we were both different but in any way it is VERY frightening ,VERY isolating, VERY secretive and extremely controlling.Over time, thanks to BEAT, the NHS and the enormous support of our loving families and friends, we are both now in a much better place and back in control of our feelings and our relationship with food. We have increased our self confidence and our own self belief. The next big challenge on our way to recovery is to ‘go public’ so we cannot hide again and taking part in BEATs BIG JUMP seemed like the perfect crazy challenge for us to prove to ourselves we can do this . We are self funding the sky dive ,working extra shifts at work to cover the costs so that EVERY PENNY we raise will go to BEAT so they can continue to offer their invaluable support to other sufferers and their families.Thank you for reading our story, we really do appreciate any donation big or small.Lots of love Ella and Mima xxx😘
