Story

Thank you for taking a look at this page!  We would really appreciate your support with the challenge that we have set with 4.2 weeks (or so) to go! Chloe and I will be running 42KM on 27th March 2021. We love getting a jog on, as many of you will know, but we have never pushed ourselves this far!

EduSpots is a small but phenomenal charity making a significant impact to communities across Ghana. As two people who are passionate about ensuring all children have access to a secure and safe education, but also the opportunities to develop the skillset, confidence and ability to determine their own futures - we believe the work of EduSpots is fundamental!

What to think about when you donate....!

£4.20 enables us to fund a local text book for our book loaning stations

£42 enables our Ghanian team to lead a training session with local volunteers

£420 enables us to deliver training and a literacy or STEM kit to a community who has requested it

£420 enables us to create a new 'spot'

Please support the dedicated work of inspiring individuals and communities that deliver training, provide sustainable resources, develop awesome Education 'Spots', and connect over 40 UK and Ghanian schools in active global citizenship projects. The work doesn't stop there! - You can find out more by visiting https://eduspots.org/.

In a year that is seen harder times for all, students in communities across Ghana have faced prolonged school closures. 42% of volunteers surveyed agreed that lost learning time due to COVID would cause 'many students not to attend Senior High School'. A high percentage of children in our communities have no parent at home who can support their learning, and with limited learning resources, and limited contact from school - many Ghanaian children have had their education placed entirely on hold.

Why 42?

4.2 years ago the charity was founded. For 4.2 months, communities will be fundraising. 42KM is enough for me to hang up our trainers for the rest of 2021.

EduSpots connects, trains and equips educational 'catalysts' to drive community-led change, through the creation and local management of inclusive and sustainable education centres.

300 educational catalysts in 42 communities have been supported in creating community-led education 'spots', powered by solar, leading programmes in practical STEM and literacy development. Roughly 15,000 learners have been positively impacted and we were recently shortlisted for the national EduCom award for NGO or Business contribution to education.

Thank you again - any support is so appreciated!
