Story
We are now asking for volunteers to join the Millennium Million Step Challenge to help us reach our target of 100 million steps by December 2020 and our £10,000 fundraising target.
Supporting UK charity “Shelter”
The COVID-19 pandemic has reduced the amount of money raised by charities this year and we believe that the UK homeless will be particularly hard hit this winter. We now wish to provide financial support and make a difference so we are requesting volunteers to take part and raise funds on the Millennium Million Step Challenge “Shelter” Just Giving page. If each person raises £100 then we will only need 100 volunteers to reach our £10,000 target.
What do you need to do?
You will need some type of tracking device which could be a smart phone, Strava, Fitbit, Apple watch etc. Your activity can include walking, running and any other ad-hoc movement where you record your steps.
If you currently average 10,000 steps per day, then you will need 100 days to reach 1 million. Walking 15,000 steps per day will take 75 days and 20,000 only 50 days.
This means that there should be sufficient time to reach our target of 100 million steps by the end of the year.
