Story

The tanker spent quite a while parked up in Goathland sidings but not easily accessible as more recently it was unable to be used as part of freight traffic because the suspension was too poor. There has been a lot of interest in the Milk Tanker so it was moved to a position within Goathland sidings where it could be seen more easily by visitors/travellers. It has now moved to Pickering, transported one evening on the back of slow moving freight to ensure safe transfer, so that the Wagon Group could begin work to assess the full extent of the works required. The primary task was removing one of the suspension springs to form a pattern from which 6 new ones could be made.
